Can you get a refund from Kuwait airways if they delay your flight?

asked Feb 27, 2017 in Activities by Potential Kuwait Airways Passenger
My friend flew to the Philippines with Kuwait airways and they aborted the flight after 45 mins returning to Kuwait. They then told them that if they left the airport hotel they may not get added to the flight which was delayed repeated times until it left 24hrs later. Being told it was a new plane (probably the same plane), they did the same and eventually arrived in Manilla with a 40hr journey time. Can they do anything about this? No one was helpful in the airport or on the phone.

You could try but I doubt Kuwait Airways (or any airline) would refund you the ticket. At best you might get extra miles or something.

On the other hand did you buy the ticket using a credit card? If yes, then depending on what credit card from what bank you might have gotten travel insurance with the ticket. If you did then the insurance company most likely would compensate you. For example I always get my travel insurance from Columbus Direct and they have delays covered in the policy.

Thanks. It was what I thought. I just thought I'd see if someone knew. I enjoyed a flight to London and Bahrain with Kuwait Airways but it seems when things go wrong they're not helpful.

I was once bumped off a flight to Mumbai and instead was given the option to either fly via Delhi or take the flight the next day.

Regardless of which option I chose, they also gave me and the other passengers that were bumped off a Kuwait Airways cupon of USD 250.

The cupon had to be produced at a Kuwait airways office within three months, and then they would give another cupon of the same value valid for a year - that could be used during your next booking.

Hope that helps.
