Can Somebody tell about maintenance cost of a 2013 jaguar xf..is it very expensive to maintain ?

asked May 18 in Automotive by Sheri
Hello.i am planning to buy a low mileage jaguar xf 2013 (2.0T) but some of my friends have told me that its a very high maintenance car and its pretty expensive to maintain (400 kd for rear brake pads changing at dealer as per them) plus if u don't go for dealer maintenance,it will be hard to find a mechanic for jaguar...Can somebody who owns a jaguar guide me of whether i should go for it or not. Thanks

I would agree that it will be hard to find a mechanic and spare parts as well. If a car is not that common, it will be harder and more expensive to maintain.

First thing I do before buying a car is that I go to the dealer (the parts department) and ask for a price report for the common parts like pads, disks, belts, fan, main water hoses, etc.. (don't tell them I want a price report, just ask nicely that you are going to buy this car and you want to know price of certain things, then ask them to print the report for you). Then I visit their repair department/garage and ask about the price of installing these parts... only then you know how much (estimate) your car will cost you. Don't just take whatever other people tell you unless they have the same car.

Regarding the availability of the mechanics, a year ago I was interested in buying a Subaru and after searching Shuwaikh for more than 1.5 hours I couldn't find a single Subaru mechanic (there maybe others in some other areas, but that means that it will be super hard to find, and when you find someone, maintenance will be extremely expensive compared to other brands that almost anyone can work on.

First of all there is a reason it's cheap. The agent in Kuwait is a rip off. The spares are so expensive. When a  Toyota corolla  cost more than a jaguar built in the same year you have to ask your self why. My advice check out Q8car website. You will find plenty of decent cars on there.
