Cheese not allowed through Kuwait airport security?

asked Aug 22, 2017 in Other by Ed

Does anyone know what the "new" restrictions are for carry-on luggage at Kuwait security?

Because I was recently (AUG-17) on a flight to India and it seemed like the out-sourced security guys were pretty focused on throwing away cheese, biscuits, toothpastes and soaps.

They even tried to remove the chocolate I purchased at duty free (!!!)

It was also very chaotic. When I asked the supervisor to clarify the list of banned items, he just told me that the airline should inform you and walked off.

Is this normal for flights flying to other countries as well?

Nope, that’s just the special Indian treatment.  From what I’ve been told by my Indian friends, that the Indians working at the airport are more racist than the Kuwaiti supervisor.

AND NO, it is not a restriction at all.  I flew in 3 days ago with over 10kg of assorted Dutch cheeses from the Netherlands.

Mark recently posted a video by some chinese guy who was flying from Kuwait to India.  I must say I have never ever ever seen this kind of chaos and crap animal like treatment ever in Kuwait airport.  Its the special treatment they reserve for india flights.  Also the video does show that its Indians employees that are being assholes to the indian passengers.

OP is original poster
It is not racsist
Soap and cheese when x-rayed can resemble explosives
But soap and cheese is hold baggage is ok
HOWEVER when arriving to EU or USA or AUSTRALIA sniffer dogs will catch cheese - so best to confess you have it - going to USA cheese is OK

The x-rays in kuwaits arrival hall will probably detect a block of cheese or large quantities of soap and draw suspicion
