Thought we could have a single post related to drones and drone-hobbyists in Kuwait, rather than scattered posts like those below:

I have a question for those with a DJI Spark, what max altitude have you got so far in Kuwait and in what area?

500 meters, its electronically limited, and it can be achieved in any area (except no fly zones).  You have to be careful of windspeed, because the wind is much different at 500meters.  Get an app called UAVforecast and check the wind levels at higher altitudes.

Also, stay far far far away from the airport, because airplanes can be as low as 500meters on approach as far away from the airport as The Avenues.  Be extra careful, don't be stupid, when in doubt check flight radar 24.

Edit * Always use flight radar 24 if you are going above 400meters.  Do it EVERY single time.  Air traffic routes change often.

Also don't fly it straight up, because the transmitter/receiver is on the sides of the spark not the bottom.  So take it out 100m away or so to get better reception.

Thanks man, but I've been in the 2 digit range so far and the higher I go, the more my bowels move :) Just trying to understand it fully at the moment - never been higher than say a 8-storey building. Need to get to an open area and turn-off beginner mode too... and maybe then go beyond 100m.

And you're right about avoiding flying straight up..!!

Good luck!  She is so much fun.  I took my first night flight yesterday, after 3 months of owning the spark, and 88hours flying time.   WOW! JUST WOW!

Using the remote I've been able to go up to just past 400m. Probably because i fly it straight up and the other posted mentioned that would reduce the max height by about 100.

City / residential areas or out in the open?

Here is exactly what you should NEVER EVER EVER DO.  This bastard is putting so many lives at risk flying in the middle of a no fly zone so close to the airport at 500m.  It's hard to overstate how dangerous and stupid and evil this is.
