Will my car get impounded if I install fender flares?

Planning on installing Bushwacker fender flares for my FJ but I'm worried it will get impounded.

I've got a small 2" lift kit and i get harassed by cops. i'm guessing you also have a lift kit and large tires as well or else you wouldn't be considering the bushwackers. i think bushwackers will send more attention your way.

technically there is no law that says you can lift your car, but there is a law that says you can't modify your car and everything falls under that depending on the cops mood.

Thanks for your reply, Mark. Yes you’re correct about the lift and the bigger tires. The thing is though that the wheels are offset and the tires are sticking out a bit on the sides so I thought getting a different fender will solve it.

yeah i understand, when i had my wrangler i had the stock fenders and they gave me issues at the yearly car check because my tires were sticking out. so you solve your car checkup issue by getting the larger fenders, but then you run into the cops on the street who like to fine and impound suv's that have lift kits. its a lose lose situation for us.

I guess I'll not get the fender flares then. The tires are sticking out about 1-2cm but I guess I might get away with it. I found a shop in Kuwait that sells them for 195kd but its a lot of money just to increase the chances of me getting ticketed and I think that's not worth it then. Thanks Mark.

P.s. I wish there was a platform to make our voices heard and have that law changed as it seems like this law is only beneficial to the dealers as they make sure customers only buy parts from them.
Back when I was in the U.S. I wrapped my car matte black with vinyl wrap, never got a ticket once or harassed by the police. I spoke to the DMV and they told me I didnt even need to change the car color as the wrap is temporary. It was so much easier modifying cars over there.

Check ORP, they're selling them for 175

I spoke to ORP about this issue since they lift cars and are super popular. They've tried to bring it up and were told not to basically.

Thanks for link, Mark. I've had my car worked on by ORP and they're good at what they do.

It's a shame then not much can be done about the issue. I hope platforms like Niqashna or similar bring up the topic and give it more exposure.
Thanks, Mark. You can lock the post. :)
