Passing a red light..fine, jail time, or both?

asked Dec 24, 2017 in Automotive by anonymous
Hi guys!

I think I may have passed a red lighter today right after it was orange, and the camera caught me. Is the fine still 50 KD? And I was reading online that you can get the 50 KD fine, or jail up to 3 months and up to a 100 KD fine. What are the two situations where each of these would occur?

And anyone know when the fine will show up online?

If it's a camera, I don't think there's any jail time involved. Your violation possibly might be locked, meaning you cannot pay it online and you have to personally go pay for it plus probably approval of some high guy in the MOI.

It's a fine
No jail time

You might have to go to the traffic dept. Hq to be able to pay online

Will show in 2 weeks to a month

First of, there is no ‘orange’ light on a traffic light.  As already mentioned it is a fine.  However, you can’t pay it online.   I think you have to personally go and get the signature of a colonel at the traffic dept.  Find a wasta for this part.  You might get lucky and the fine just never comes.  Happened to me twice! Once with a camera, and once when a cop pulled me over and personally gave me a ticket.  Pray for incompetence.

Sorry, yellow* light

How is it that a fine would never come?

If it does, I'll just get it paid and call it a day

With the camera I’ve heard that sometimes it can flash, but it doesn’t actually have the camera inside.  They have fewer cameras than housings and so they move the cameras around.

pray for their incompetence to spare your incompetence, oddly fitting
